Insulation is an important factor to saving energy and achieving comfort in your home. Insulation reduces unwanted heat loss or gain and can decrease the energy demands of heating and cooling systems. There are many different types of insulation products that offer different advantages for various budgets and lifestyles. Design Builders & Remodeling will discuss various insulation alternatives and work with you to choose the best insulation product for your home and budget. Please see some of the options listed below.
Attic Guard Means comfort and savings. It is here - the thermally efficient, cost effective way to protect your home investment from continually rising fuel and energy costs. Attic Guard Premium 100% virgin white fiberglass insulation is now available to make your home a more comfortable place to live. Its premium quality provides consistent thermal performance, and looks great at the same time. Insulating those difficult areas in your home becomes easier using Attic Guard loose fill insulation.
Cellulose is 85% recycled paper fiber and it takes less energy to produce the product in manufacturing. Examining the amount of insulation in building new and old is a very important part of a comprehensive energy efficiency review. As with all energy efficiency improvements, the benefits come down to comfort, energy and saving money.
Cellulose provides a higher R-value (thermal resistance) than fiberglass. It tightens the building more than other materials and flows easily around pipes and electrical wiring. It has been determined that cellulose is 36% better at eliminating air infiltration.
Staple Optional ®
The Staple Optional products are designed for use in wood frame cavities. The friction fit application is recommended for vertical walls only. Always use stapling method when installing in ceiling or horizontal wall applications.
Staple Optional kraft faced batts can be used in any wood frame vertical wall application. Whether for installation in an interior wall or exterior wall, it allows the installer to bring only one product to the job site for either application.
Open cell foam, or 1/2 pound foam, provides superior energy economy and durability while significantly reducing unmanaged moisture and air infiltration. Open cell foam gives an engineered building envelope with a high long-term thermal resistance and excellent air barrier. This high performance open cell rigid polyurethane foam is used for commercial and residential perimeter wall insulation that is applied by authorized applications.
Closed cell foam, or 2 pound foam, provides superior energy economy and durability while significantly reducing unmanaged moisture and air infiltration. Closed cell foam gives an engineered building envelope with a high long-term thermal resistance, an excellent air barrier, and a recognized vapor retarder after two inches of depth. This high performance closed cell rigid polyurethane foam is used for commercial and residential perimeter wall insulation that is applied by authorized applicators.
